METHERINGHAM, LINCOLN – 2008

This domestic 4 bed house was demolished due to the bad state of repair.  The new house was within 2 metres of the demolition and great care was employed on the project.  All that was needed was for the ground floor doors and windows to be boarded up.  This contract was completed successfully within 3 days.

REDUNDANT FACTORY, LINCOLN – 2008

A.R.T. Was called in to demolish this redundant factory due to the empty building rating regulations.  The building was derelict due to vandalism and was being used by the homeless. The solution was complete demolition.

These works took 4 weeks and were completed by using 20 and 30 tonne demolition spec excavators fitted with various shears and grapples.  The floor slabs were to remain so all stanchions were hot cut at the base.

HARDY & HANSONS BREWERY, NOTTS

A.R.T. purchased the strip out rights to this brewery in March 2007, again large plasma cutters and oxy propane where used. 6 men carried out the works in 3 months, working in a close partnership with another contractor the works where finished 2 weeks early.

CARRON GROVE MILL, SCOTLAND

In late 2007 we purchased all the strip out rights and paper making machinery at Carron Grove Mill, Scotland. The works took 4 months, plasma cutters, oxy propane cutting equipment and heavy plant where used to remove all materials, leaving just empty builings while some machinery was resold to Sweden and around the UK. We also secured deals on a further 2 mills in Scotland.

OLD BREWERY, NEWARK

2006 was the demolition of 3 buildings in Newark, Care had to be taken as one of the buildings was attached to a listed building whilst the others were in close proximity. All reclaim materials were salvaged before the machines moved in. All brick and concrete were crushed in separate heaps and left on site for the client.

CHEMICAL PLATING WORKS, COVENTRY

In September 05 A.R.T undertook this plating works at the centre of a residential area. Environmental, dust and noise were key issues. Working closely with chemical and hazardous waste companies we were able to successfully demolish and crush these buildings in 4 weeks.

LOCO WORKS, SCUNTHORP, LINCS

In 2005 this loco works shed in Scunthorpe, Lincoln had to be demolished due to its bad state of repair. Again the asbestos cement was stripped first and then cold cut down. This took 4 days.

BLANKNEY, LINCOLN

Started in mid 2004 these grain drying storage sheds were the 1st phase of the project. Half of the building had to be demolished in order for a new half shed to go up. The second phase took place in Nov 2004 for 8 weeks.

Once all the asbestos cement had been striped from both phases the steel work could come down. The steel work had to be cut from around all the drying equipment as this was to be left in situ. 90% of all cutting was cold cut as to the flammability of the surrounding materials.
